help you.The Brother HL-1470N is a high-speed network laser printer
designed primarily for business use in networked environments. Its
price tag puts it a little out of reach for personal use, but it's
a good choice for home office use. The initial cost of most laser printers seems high, particularly when compared to inkjet printers, but a laser printer can pay for itself in no time with dramatically lower per-page printing costs. Unless you need color printing capabilities, a laser printer can save you a bundle in the long run, as well as provide better text output. The HL-1470N is easy to install. The package includes installers and drivers for Windows, Macintosh OS 9, and Macintosh OS X. The printer supports 10/100BaseT, USB, and parallel port connections, but you'll need to supply your own USB or parallel cable. There's no manual feed tray, so if you want to do any printing on special paper stocks, you'll need to feed one page at a time into the printer. If you want to use heavy paper stocks, you can open a door at the back of the printer for a straight paper pass-through. The manual feed feature can handle bond paper, recycled paper, envelopes, labels, and transparencies, as well as standard paper. The paper tray can handle plain paper, bond paper, recycled paper, and transparencies. The regular paper tray is limited to 250 sheets, which is a little skimpy if you plan to use it as a home office printer. If the paper capacity becomes a major problem, you can purchase a second 250-sheet paper tray, which fits onto the bottom of the printer. The manufacturer claims printing speeds of up to 15 pages per minute, but rated speeds are rarely met in real-world situations. Overall, the HL-1470N is a relatively speedy printer, with crisp text output and nicely detailed images. The HL-1470N ships with 8MB of RAM, which is expandable up to 36MB if you want to speed up printing times and free up your computer for other tasks.
