Features to consider when Buying : |

The model range consists of Corolla Verso, a compact MPV, a high-performance
192bhp Corolla TSport, as well as the hatchbacks and saloon. There
is a hatchback, Verso and Estate. There are five engines available
in the range, all the petrol engines benefitting from Variable Valve
Timing,. and there are also the excellent high-tech, common-rail
D-4D diesel engines. Buying a Corolla might not make much of a statement
but you ar buying a ridiculously good car that will almost certainly
never give you a moments trouble.
Good Point
Styling of the new range is a huge improvement. They all look great.
Bad Point
We will have to wait and see if they have faults. Doubt it though.

| Honda Civic
LX, DX, EX, and HX |
| |
What a smashing car. The latest Civic may have upset a few of the
cars old customers with the styling but the improvements are remarkable.
Two lightweight aluminium-alloy engines are offered: a 1.4-litre (90
bhp) and a 1.6-litre VTEC (110 bhp). The suspension set-up is all
new to suit the change in body design and overall-rigidity has been
increased for better body control and stability. The seating-position
and comfort of the Civic is first-class. Gear-mounted gearshift is
a great idea and frees up room for footwell. Price is slightly against
it.
Good Point
Well made, perfect ten execution, top drawer reliability, smooth,
efficient engines
Bad Point
Understated, undemanding. Seriously lacks any personality.

| Ford Focus
LX, SE, ZX3 and ZTS |
| |
A good range of engines and the lovely styling mean the Focus has
overtaken the Golf as the car to lust after in its segment. Great
handling, smart looks and high levels of safety make it a winner.
Available in Hatchback, Saloon and Estate the hatch is easily the
most beautiful, especially in three-door form. The controls are light
and smooth to operate Ð the gearchange is exceptional Ð and
minor switches are well-laid out. The Focus is in keeping with the
rest of the Ford range, as being a car that is as much fun on a twisty
road as it is competent in the city.
Good Point
Great fun to drive, wonderful gearbox, holds its value well.
Bad Point
A shame about the estate which should really be like a Sportwagon
instead.
